Tips for playing Level 3 'Ode to Joy':
This particular arrangement of 'Ode to Joy' on this page is at Level 3 (easy level). The hand-positions are mostly in the C major position (C 5-finger scale) for both hands with some slight changes. A few fingering numbers are provided. When you see those fingering numbers, you can change the position temporarily. Even though Beethoven wrote this section of Symphony No. 9 in the key of D major, this arrangement is written in the key of C major (which is only one whole-step lower) to accommodate piano players at Level 3. You'll be playing different notes and using different fingers with right and left hands most of the time to play the melody notes and harmonic notes.
