Saint Etienne Proof Marks

I'm hoping someone out there can help me date a Saint-Étienne double-barrel 16 gauge my father brought home from WWII. I know it's a French made gun, and most likely not all that rare or valuable - but I'm really curious as to its age. I'm guessing it was manufactured some time after 1900 and before 1940. I've been able to figure out some of the stampings (e.g., 'ACIER SUPERIEUR' I think means superior steel, and 'RECTIFIÉ' probably means adjusted or choked), but I was hoping maybe some of the numbers or other stampings revealed details about the age of the gun. Any help or info is much appreciated. I'm assuming the burned inscription 'Mechin' on the stock was the name of the Frenchman that owned the shotgun before it was confiscated by the Nazis.

FRENCH ST ETIENNE OVER UNDER 12 GA SHOTGUN French Over Under 12 Ga Shotgun Manufactured and proofed in St Etienne. Bears Post 1923 St Etienne proof and powder marks to barrel, 'Crown over PT' and 'Crown over St Etienne.' Also marked 18.3mm bore, 12 Ga. Blued barrel fits into nickel chromed receiver, and is secured by latch on wood foregrip. Wood stock is a replacement and has plastic butt stock. Double trigger, checkered chamber release and sliding thumb safety. Foregrip has checkered grip pattern. Type: Shotgun . Manufacturer: St Etienne . Model: Over Under . Caliber / Guage: 12 Ga .
